A range error reduction technique for positioning applications in sports

In recent times, ultra-wideband (UWB)-based positioning systems have become popular in sport performance monitoring. UWB system uses time of arrival to calculate the range data between devices (i.e. anchors, tags), and then use trilateration algorithms estimate position coordinates. practical applications, non-line-of-sight transmissions multipath propagations lead inaccurate lower accuracy. This paper introduces a error minimisation algorithm address this limitation UWB-based system. The proposed solution analyses for each anchor sequentially reduces based on distance tag. ultimately contributes higher accuracies. authors implemented hardware test-bed, evaluating accuracy an indoor sport. outperforms both commercially used by up 50% 25%, respectively.
